With the confusion of missing airplane accidents frequently happened from 2014, ‘How might we let messages be passed or preserved after an air crash in the ocean’ is asked.

Using biomimicry design methodology, the project develops a ‘black web’ to replace the existed ‘black boxes’, which is light, strong, and flexible, could be found easily; also the damage of the web will not affect data reading.

Black web fits on the inner surface of the aircraft shell, next to the lightweight structure. When the plane disintegrated, it floats on the sea with the attached structure. Once part of the web is lost and sunk, investigators can still read the complete information.
Web structure is developed from spider web.
